Become a Member
Membership in the Unitarian Church in Charleston is absolutely voluntary. Never forced, it is a free, life affirming, and life changing choice made by each individual member. We have no creedal requirements for membership. Rather, membership is open to all who support our mission and freely choose to journey with us in the spirit of love.
There are MANY paths to membership, and yours will be unique to you. But no matter what your journey looks like, we encourage everyone to take the following steps:
Explore Your Spirituality
One of the great things about Unitarian Universalism is having many religious traditions. We invite you to explore all of them.
Practice Love
From offering a listening ear, delivering a meal, or even getting your hands dirty.
Build Community
From happy hours to choirs, eating to activities, we want you to get to know US!
Promote Justice
A huge part of who we are is our desire to help others, we hope you find a way to serve other along side us.
When you are ready to officially join the church, simply complete the New to UU Class and sign the Membership Book in the presence of the Minister and an officer of the church. All new members are welcomed into the congregation with a special ceremony during a Sunday service.
