Listening to the Hills: Resilience Written in Earth
with Clint Tawes
Clint Tawes reflects on a journey he and other members of the Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribal Council took to the tribe’s ancestral homelands in Natchez, Mississippi, for the first time in generations. Through this experience he will explore resilience—how people, land, and memory endure displacement, and how wisdom rises from what still remains.
Priscilla Shumway will be our Worship Associate,
Emily White will give the Time for All Ages,
with music provided by the House Band and the choir.

We will look at the differences between "direct" and "representative" democracies and consider the possibility that a middle ground between the two is possible. This may lead to improvements in our own current praxis. Andrew Alwine has been teaching at the College of Charleston since 2012. His specialties are in ancient Greek, classical history, and political history.
On the first Sunday of each month, we Share the Plate with a non-profit organization that reflects our UU Principles. Last church year we were able to give a total of over $8,000 to eleven organizations.
