We need 4 volunteers to work at JIO on the 1st Saturday of each month from 8:30-11:30 and at least 10 volunteers to work at the LCFB on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9-12.

If you are interested in a social justice opportunity that you can do right from your own favorite chair, we would like to share an organization called Worthy Now (
https://worthynow.org). This is a UU organization out of Boston that connects UUs with incarcerated UU individuals for letter writing support. Currently, there are over 100 incarcerated UUs who need a pen pal. For more information please reach out to:

Gage Hall Coffeehouse presents Forty Mile Detour, Acoustic!!
Featuring Forty Mile Detour and their original brand of "Authentic.American.Music".  On Saturday, April 19th at 7:30 pm the Gage Hall Coffeehouse series is happy to present local Americana band, Forty Mile Detour!!!  The band will share their original music, a soulful blend of the Americana and Folk-Rock genres. You'll hear the stories and inspiration that wrap around each of the tunes.  Forty Mile Detour has played Gage Hall Coffeehouse several times to a standing room only crowd!!  You can follow the band on Facebook (Forty Mile Detour Music) and their website.    Profits from Gage Hall Coffeehouses support enrichment activities in Charleston-area elementary schools. Gage Hall is located at 4 Archdale Street. Suggested donation of $20 for Adults; $10 for Students.

Back by popular demand! Immerse yourself in captivating storytelling and musical interludes at Story Fest 2025. An evening of good old storytelling presented by talented UU's Regina Ruopoli, Lisa Thompson-Ross, Susan Garrison, Ruby Cooper, emceed by Nancy Simpson. They will entertain you with their raconteur skills. This will be storytelling at its finest with baked goodies for sale. Suggested Donation - $25

To share a significant life event (births, deaths, celebrations, transitions and other joys and sorrows) send to Marcia Castano at marciapate5@gmail.com by Saturday evenings at 6:00 p.m. or write them in person on Sunday morning. The physical book is kept at the front of the church near the pulpit.
The Spark of Change: It is part of our mission to build a better world. Will you join us to spark the changes we want to see? This upbeat service on Tikkun Olam (from Jewish mystical tradition) will surely help you keep the fire of commitment alive!
