We are hard-wired for empathy, but this capacity is like being born with muscles. We have them, but they develop only when we exercise them. We'll talk about how to develop our compassion muscles. Following the Service and Coffee Hour we will assemble our tree in the Sanctuary. If you are able, please join us at 12:30. We will need several volunteers since our tree is as large as it is beautiful!
This Sunday we will also celebrate the UU Service Committee's Resistance Network: Building Power to Defend Human Rights and Democracy is a mobilization hub designed to take immediate action when civil liberties, democracy, and human rights are at risk. You will find a UUSC table in Gage Hall where you will have the opportunity to learn more about these programs, and enjoy what we are calling “Proper Coffee….With Biscotti.”
The UUSC has the highest rating (4 Star) from Charity Navigator, and donations of $150 or more will be matched by Shelter Rock UU in New York. Other than Gage Hall, donations to the UUSC can also be made at donate.uusc.org.
Please join us in Gage Hall after the service to help us recognize the amazing work being done by the UUSC to protect human rights, and protect democracy.
Emily White will give the Time for All Ages,
Carolyn Parker will be our Worship Associate,
with music provided by Bill Gesin.
